Subject: Golf Course Maintenance Update
Overview of the Week
- Despite
some issues with the irrigation pumps (that we have repaired) and a large
mainline leak we have managed the summer stress fairly well. Greens have recovered from stress
although we have a bit of work to do controlling a small outbreak of fairy
ring. We have had a small amount
of disease outbreaks on fairways, mainly on the Oaks, that we now have
under control and we will be doing some nurturing in those areas next week
with spot aerification and seeding.
Updates and Pending
Issues.
- We
are pressing forward on controlling the pond algae and aquatic weeds. We have been fairly successful with a new
approach on the #9 reservoir. Weed
control, dyes and an organic product are working fairly well in other
ponds which have helped lower the amount of chemicals needed in those
areas.
- #5
fountain has been repaired. #9
fountain needed major repairs that won’t be completed for a few weeks
- The
Rose Garden arbor is almost complete (good job Kent)
- We
are almost complete with the new landscape of California natives at the
Bocce Court. We are awaiting the
delivery of a small amount of plants and then we will mulch the area
- The
Goose Patrol is now active and we will begin running Madison on a regular
basis in the morning.
- Fairy
ring (a slight case) on green surfaces is being treated.
- Front
pond project now at the City of Roseville for permitting
