NOVEMBER 7, 2007
* President Engels called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM.
* 91 members were present which constitutes a quorum.
* The minutes from the October 3 meeting were read and approved.
* Don Hug gave the treasurers report; he estimated that we would have a small surplus going into the New Year. The report is attached to the minutes.
* Phil announced that sign ups are being taken now for the Holiday Breakfast/Skills challenge. He also called for volunteers for the coming year to serve on the various committees.
* Bill Hagopian reported that we now have 401 members and introduced the 4 newest members: Dorwin Hathorn, Joe Gurnaby, Don Maxham and Mike Vidalis.
* There were two holes in one in October; they were by Jim Paquette and Joe Hepburn.
* Mark Gouger reported that he will have a representative here for two days from Fusion Design to help with redoing the layout of the Pro shop to make it more efficient and attractive. He also announced that all outerwear is on sale at 20% off. He is now receiving golf shirts made from bamboo fibers and that shortly the Ashworth line of golf shirts and outerwear will be available. The annual wine & cheese event will be held on Wednesday, the 28th of November with all items on sale at 15 to 40 % off. The pros are giving a holiday special on lessons, four for the price of two. He is working on the skills challenge for the Holiday breakfast and announced that the Pro shop will be furnishing equipment as needed. He also announced that a new sweeps ÒpolicyÓ will be put in place on a trial basis, every player on MenÕs Day will kick in $1.00 for it to see if it can get some excitement going. It will not be mandatory and he indicated that he would give it wide publicity.
* Troy Thompson, reporting for Jim Ferrin, discussed all of the course work that has been going on over the past month and new projects going on now. New drainage is being put around selected holes; the greens have all been readied for the winter. He also explained how the employees work the rotation of the holes.
* Roger called for the election of the 2008 slate. There were no nominations from the floor and the slate was elected as proposed: Phil Hart Ð President, Roy Lloyd ÐVice president, Don Hug Ð Treasurer, and Rodger Page Ð Secretary.
* Dick Mann explained the Òhow toÓ when the ball is hit twice and also the winter rule in effect, lift, clean & place. A bump is not allowed and is considered to be a stroke.
* Martin reported that 60 gift cards to the Nugget Market were handed out at the Turkey Shoot Tournament. The Last Chance Tournament on the 27th is now taking sign ups.
* Joe Lavette announced that RAMP was done for the winter and all players should repair their divots as they play. For the Golf Committee he announced the meeting would be this afternoon at 2 PM and a big topic will be the control of the resident goose population.
* Paul Wilmoth explained what a ÒPÓ score is and how you might get one; his presentation is attached to these minutes.
* Phil announced that for the upcoming year there will not be an Invitational and instead there will be an enhanced Member/Member to be held in June and a Member/Guest event to be held in September.
* The raffle was held and Don Yorston won the $25.00 gift certificate.
* The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 AM.
