MINUTES
APRIL 2, 2008
- Meeting
called to order at 8:30 by President Phil Hart.
- 83
members were present which constitutes a quorum.
- The
minutes from the March 5th meeting were approved.
- Don
Hug read the treasurers report, indicating a balance on hand of
$15,388.65, report was approved.
- John
Ingram and Jack McKinney received hole in one flags along with a $50.00
check for each.
- Mark
Gouger announced the upcoming First Tee Scholarship event for July 18th.
He also announced that the Pro shop would have several items of clothing
on special sale during April. He showed a new Titilist ball that has more
dimples and will improve your game! Mark also announced that the
refurbishment of the Pro shop had been approved.
- Jim
Ferrin advised that work on the 17th fairway had commenced and
requested that golfers be on the look out for workers in that area. He
also indicated that his budget had been approved and he will be getting
several pieces of new equipment and that they will shortly start marking
sprinkler heads. Jim also gave an interesting talk on Augusta, which is
the most technological golf course in the world. They apparently do not
have any budget restraints. His discussion was accompanied by several
photos of various holes.
- Joe
Lavette reported the upcoming RAMP schedule and indicated a need for more
volunteers, He also announced that the Golf Committee would meet in the
afternoon and one of the big topics would be a discussion of the ADA. Joe
said the cost of passes would remain the same in the New Year but that the
fee for silver passes would increase by $2.00.
- Paul
Wilmoth reported for the Handicap Committee, see attached report. He also
said that his committee will post ÔTŐ scores but it may be a few days
after the tournament.
- Jack
Chittick reported that the club now has 379 members and requested that
everyone keep their e-mail addresses updated and also that all members
should be recruiting new members.
- Dick
Mann reporting for rules re-iterated that we are now playing the ball down
and ÔbumpingŐ is a penalty. He did say that balls on the green, resting in
an aeration hole could be moved.
- Martin
reported that we have 38 teams and about 8 singles signed up so far for
the Spring Swing on April 15th. He also announced that there
will be an Enhanced Member/Member on June 24th and 25th,
which will be a two day event and include a lunch and dinner similar to
past Invitationals.
- Bill
Aaberg announced that the 4 Ball Senior Net in June could use greater
participation by members.
- Dick
Gilberg said he had 41
members signed up for the Travel event to Auburn, that we will have the
whole course to ourselves and will have a shotgun start. The next event
will be at Empire Ranch on Wednesday, June 4th, and sign-ups
are being taken. He also said that he is taking sign-ups for the Putting
Contest on April 25th. Reporting as the website guru, he said
that anytime discrepancies are spotted to please let him know.
- Tom
Shively made a pitch for the Foundation Tournament scheduled for June 6th.
Cost will be $60.00 plus green fees and it is for a very good cause.
- Phil
announced that a Home at Home with Lincoln Hills will be held August 15th,
more information later.
- There
will be no General Meeting in June.
- Bill
Whitney was the winner of the $25.00 gift certificate.
- Meeting
