Tuesday shotgun start times remain at 8:00AM and 12:30PM and will continue through January and February and maybe into March 2008. We are playing "Winter Rules" which means lift, clean, and place within 12" through the green, except in hazards. Bumping is a penalty stroke.

Lakes/Pines rotation day is the morning of Tuesday, January 22^nd. For those new to the club this is where we play the Lakes and Pines courses while the nine-holers play the Oaks. The posting computer will be defaulted to the Lakes/Pines blue tees for ease in posting your scores. Those playing in the afternoon will play the Lakes/Oaks as usual.

Your new officers for 2008 are Phil Hart-President, Roy Lloyd-Vice President, Don Hug-Treasurer, and Rodger Page-Secretary. The 2008 Governing Board member list is posted on our bulletin boards and web site. Committee members are always needed so please contact one of the committee chairs and volunteer your services.

The weekly sweeps resumed after some holiday and weather postponements. Bring your $1 on Tuesdays to the Pro Shop when you check-in. There is a different format each Tuesday. After your round you must turn in your scorecard to the pro shop . Results are usually posted by Thursday in the Resident's Room behind the computer.

From Dick Mann your Rules Chairman:   It is a pleasure to have Don Carlson as a member of the Rules Committee for 2008. Don's knowledge and experience as a golfer and former rules chairman is a valuable addition to the committee.

Congratulations to Tom Davis who had a hole-in-one in December. Tom aced one on Lakes hole #6 using a 9-iron. He will be awarded his check and flag at the February 6 th general meeting.

Five Travel Tournaments for 2008 are being planned by new co-chairs Dick Gilberg and Dick Kay. Open to all club members these events will begin in April. Traveling dates and information will be presented at the general meetings and by emails, flyers, and web site.

The Valentine's Day Tournament will be the first one for this year and will be played on Tuesday, February 12^th. Flyers have been posted on the bulletin boards. Sign up begins Tuesday, January 29^th. This will be a "pick your own foursome" event and the cost is $10 per player. Joe Rodriguez and Jim Erskine are co-chairs.

Remember to turn in your scorecards after every round. The Handicap Committee consists of Chairman Paul Wilmoth, and committee members Tim McQuillan, John Cavanagh, Jack Nold, Leroy Munoz, Don Strunk, and Wil Roth. They routinely check score postings and will issue penalty scores to those who have not posted scores. Internet posting is allowed for our club as well as there are two posting computers at the pro shop.

The first General Meeting for 2008 will be held on Wednesday, February 6^th. The meeting begins at 8:30AM in the Lodge Ballroom. The 2008 budget will be presented at this meeting. There will be giveaways as usual.
