Timber Creek Men's Golf Club E-Bulletin February 15, 2008 Congratulations to the team of Ray Zwemer, Jerry Lundblad, Tom McHugh, and Jim Knight. They won 1st place team honors in the Pink Ball portion of the Valentine's Day Tournament. First-Place flight winners for Low Gross were Bill Aaberg(75), Larry Walker(89), Bob Davis(91). First-Place flight winners for Low Net were Jack McKinney(65), Tom Barry(65), and Al Gilmore(63). Full results and payouts are posted on the bulletin board. Thanks to Tournament Chairman Martin Wolf and to his co-chairs of this tournament, Bill Whitney and Joe Rodriguez. Tuesday shotgun start times will remain at 8:00AM and 12:30PM through the end of March. April 1st we go to 7:30AM for the morning players. Winter rules are still with us until April 1st. Lakes/Pines rotation day is the morning of Tuesday, February 25th. The posting computer will be defaulted to the Lakes/Pines blue tees for ease in posting your scores. Those playing in the afternoon will play the Lakes/Oaks as usual. RAMP (Resident's Assisted Maintenance Program) begins again in March. Contact Joe Lavette if you want to volunteer. The schedule is posted on the bulletin board and on our website. There will be weekly sweeps unless of bad weather or a club tournament. It costs you $1.00 and winnings are paid by credits to the Pro Shop. However, any credits can be converted to a gift card which can be used at Timbers Restaurant, Fitness Center and back at the Pro Shop. There is a different format each Tuesday. After your round you must turn in your scorecard to the pro shop. Results are usually posted by Thursday in the Resident's Room behind the computer. The next club tournament is the St. Patrick's Day event to be held on Tuesday, March 11th. See the bulletin board. Sign up begins Tuesday, February 26th. The format individual low net and low gross, and flighted. The cost $10 per player. Fred Amador & Joey Mastrantonio are co-chairs. The next General Meeting is Wednesday, March 5th. Coffee will be available at 8:00AM and the meeting begins at 8:30AM. There will be giveaways as usual. And Mark Gouger will be giving us a 15-20 minute lesson on "How best to practice golf" outside after the meeting (weather permitting). We have several other presentations planned for future general meetings. Please let either Phil or Roy know if you have any ideas about special presentations or have any contacts with someone that could come to one of our meetings and speak to our members. Roy Lloyd is currently working on putting together our club binder which will be placed in the Resident's Room. The binder will include our bylaws, roster, history, and several other club items. He will be presenting this at the general meeting. The 2 Dicks (Kay & Gilberg) are now taking reservations for the first travel tournament event of 2008. This individual stroke play match will be held at Auburn Country Club on Monday, April 28th. Cost is $55 per player and includes green fees, cart, and prizes. Tee times will begin at 11:06AM. Always rake the bunker immediately after your sand shot.
