  • The St. Patrick's Day tournament co-chaired by Joey Mastrantonio and Fred Amador was held on March 11th. Over 90 members played in this. Results and payouts are posted.
  • Due to aerification of the greens on March 17, 18, & 19 there will be tee times only on our normal men's day Tuesday the 18th. This will be for 9 holes on the Oaks. Any reservation slips turned in for that day will not be used. You will need to make a tee time for nine holes or two tee times for eighteen holes. Contact the pro shop if you have any questions.
  • Congratulations to John Ingram for his hole-in-one February 14th. John used an 8-iron on Lakes hole #4. And to Jack McKinney on Lakes hole #6 with a PW on March 7th. A flag and check will be presented to each at the April 2nd General Meeting.
  • The NCGA East Sacramento Zone regional tournament will be held this year at Spyglass and Poppy Hills on March 31 and April 1. The Zone Championship is then held on August 25-26 at Spyglass and Poppy Hills. One four-person team per club is allowed. Players that qualified from the Men's Club are Rich Allison, Joey Mastrantonio, Chuck Krause, and Bill Whitney.
  • The NCGA Senior Net Championship is next with the regional on May 1 at a local course in our area and the Championship will be at Poppy Hills GC on May 29-30. We will send two players this year and after the qualification round on March 11 where nine players competed, the two top winners were Martin Wolf-net 67 and Tom McHugh-net 70.    
  • Rotation day this month is Tuesday, March 25th. Morning players will be hustling back and forth to and from the Lakes/Pines courses. The posting computers will be defaulted to the Lakes/Pines blue tees that day for ease in posting.
  • April 1st we begin summer rules so we will be playing the ball down. No more lift, clean and place! And on April Fools Day our Tuesday shotgun start time changes for morning players to 7:30AM. No kidding. Afternoon time remains at 12:30PM.
  • Come to our April 2nd General Meeting as Jim Ferrin will talk about Augusta National and the preparation for the Master's Golf Tournament, or what really goes on behind the scenes at one of the world's most famous tournaments to get it to look like it does. Coffee and maybe sweets at 8:00am with the meeting at 8:30am. Please attend and support your club.
  • Next club tournament is the Spring-Swing on April 15. Format will be 2-man best ball. Bob Meline and Gary Griffin will co-chair this event. Cost will be $10 per member.
  • Our 11thAnnual Putting Tournament will be Friday, April 25th, 2:30pm at Sierra Pines with practice at 1:30pm. Sign up by contacting Rodger Page who will also be available on the patio Tuesdays and at the April general meeting.  This is always a fun event and will include pizza, beer and soft drinks. Cost is $5.00. Jim Erskine is the defending champion.
  • The two Dicks (Kay & Gilberg) are still taking reservations for the April 28thfirst travel tournament of the year to be held at Auburn CC. Spots are filling up fast. Cost is $55 which includes green fee, cart and prizes. There will be tee times.
