Rotation day this month for the morning players is Tuesday, May 27th. We
will be playing the Lakes/Pines. Computers will be defaulted to Lakes/Pines
blue tees that day for ease in posting.
The 11th Annual Putting Contest was held April 25th and new putting champion
and first time winner was Jack Anderson who sunk a 36 foot putt for the victory
over fellow competitor Ed Lick. Thanks to Chair Rodger Page for a fun and
exciting event.
We currently have 383 members in our club and the newest members are Dean
Mandler, Hal Crane, and Phil Ereno. Welcome guys and enjoy all the club activities.
There is no General Meeting in June. The next General Meeting is Wednesday,
July 2nd. Angie Dixon from First Tee Junior Golf will bring several junior
golfers to our meeting for a presentation on their program and of the upcoming
junior tournaments at Timber Creek.
Another date to put on your calendar is Friday, August 15th. This is the
first and we hope annual, "Sun City Cup" match between Lincoln
Hills Men's Golf Club and Timber Creek Men's Golf Club. It will be played
this year at our home course with a 7:30AM shotgun start and will be match
play under a modified Ryder Cup format. After golf we will have lunch on
the patio and results announced. Watch for further details.
The two day Medal (Stroke) Play Championship was held last week and full
results and payouts are posted on bulletin board and website. Thanks to Tournament
Chairman Martin Wolf and to his co-chairs for this annual event. The Championship
Flight was won by Jack Anderson, 1st Blue Flight by Chuck Krause; 2nd Blue
Flight by Ben Jackson; 3rd Blue Flight by Bill Ah Fong, and the Gold Flight
by George Fisher. Winnings are credited at the pro shop. Congratulations
to all those that placed and thanks to all the members that participated
in this tournament.
On Tuesday May 20th the patio barbeque will be available between morning
and afternoon play for anyone wanting to purchase hot dogs, cheeseburgers,
and chicken breast sandwiches.
For the next two weeks there will be no Tuesday hole assignments posted to
our web site. This should begin again for the hole assignments of Tuesday,
June 3rd.
Sign up on Tuesdays for the Member/Member Classic 2008. This tournament will
be held all day on Tuesday, June 24th and Wednesday afternoon, June 25th.
Cost is $45pp and includes a lunch, range balls, and prizes. You pay your
own green fees. Make your check payable to TCMGC. It promises to be a fun
event with separate nine hole formats plus a shoot out. And best of all "Pick
Your Own Partner". For further information contact Martin Wolf or go
