The Firecracker Tournament is going on as this is published. Dave Smith and Bob Yarrigle are the co-chairs. Full results will be posted on the bulletin board and on website. The North/South Tournament under General Rowley and General McKim is scheduled for Tuesday, August 12th . $10 entry fee to compete and sign up will begin soon.

Rotation this month for the morning players is Tuesday, July 22nd. We will play the Lakes/Pines. Computers will be defaulted to Lakes/Pines blue tees for ease in posting.

The Teal Bend traveling tournament is set for Monday, July 28 with 30 players. There is room for two more players. If you are interested, contact Dick Gilberg (789-8450) or Dick Kay (773-0734). The next travel tournament will be August 25 at Ancil Hoffman. The two Dicks will begin taking sign-ups Tuesday, July 22. The last day to sign up will be Friday, August 8. All travel events are $55pp which includes green and cart fees and prizes.

Our next General Meeting is Wednesday, August 6th. This will also be the final day to sign up for the Sun City Cup and the North/South Tournament.

Another date to put on your calendar is Friday, August 15th . This is the first and we hope annual, "Sun City Cup" match between Lincoln Hills Men's Golf Club and Timber Creek Men's Golf Club. The field is limited to 50 players from each team and will be played this year at our home course with a 7:30AM shotgun start and will be match play under a modified Ryder Cup format for the cup match and will also include cash prizes for individual low net scores in four flights. After golf we will have lunch on the patio and the results announced. Cost is $27pp with check payable to TCMGC. You pay your own green fees. Sign up sheet is located next to the posting computer or sign up on Tuesday mornings on the patio.

Bill Aaberg, NCGA Tournament Chair reports that the club qualifying for the 2008 NCGA Senior Four-Ball Net resulted in two teams advancing to the Sectional Qualifying to be played on August 7th at Teal Bend. They are the team of Jim Knight and Tom McHugh and the team of Ed Lick and Don Yorston. The championship is to be held September 15th and 16th at Poppy Ridge in Livermore. Good luck guys!

Congratulations to two members that had Holes-In-One recently. Awards and flags will go to Limbo Burleson for his ace on hole #6 and to Bill Kimura for his ace on hole #14.

Residents have kindly donated so many golf clubs to First Tee this year that they are way overstocked. First Tee would like all new donators to know that First Tee thanks them, but simply cannot accept anymore clubs this year.

Speaking of First Tee, volunteers are needed as spotters and shuttlers for the September 13th First Tee Junior Golf Championship. Contact either Rodger Page or Phil Hart if you can help.

The Member/Guest Day scheduled for a shotgun start Friday afternoon September 12th is in the planning stages. There will be a lunch and dinner involved. Watch for further details.
