Timber Creek Men's Golf Club E-Bulletin September 15, 2008 The inaugural Member/Guest Day Tournament was held on Friday, September 12th. 37 members and 37 guests played in the event. It began with a patio lunch, then golf consisting of two different nine hole formats, then the awards dinner in the ballroom which also included 24 spouses. Some great raffle prizes were given out at the dinner and Mark Gouger announced the flight winners and closest to the pin winners. Hopefully this will be an annual affair. The nominating committee chosen by President Phil Hart is Chairman Ed Lick, Ed Steele, Steve Rodriquez, and Joe Lavette. Vice President Roy Lloyd has notified the Board that he will not be stepping up to the Presidency after his term expires. And speaking of Roy Lloyd, he is working on the December 3rd Club Holiday Breakfast. Put it on your calendar. It will begin at 9:00AM and be followed by a skills challenge outside. If you are signed up to play in a tournament and for some reason you cannot make it please be considerate and notify the pro shop and our Tournament Chairman and let them know. After some months without an ace reported by a club member, Ben Jackson stepped up to the plate (or maybe it was the tee box) on Lakes hole #6 on the 8th of September. While his wife Joyce along with Mort and Marianne Fujii looked on, Ben took out his GAP wedge and proceeded to land the ball on the green and into the cup for a hole-in-one. Congratulations Ben. You will be receiving your award and flag at our next General Meeting. The "Rose Cup" will be held this year on November 7th and 8th at Sierra View CC and Diamond Oaks GC. Qualifications were held last Tuesday. Contact Mark Gouger for information. Jack Chittick, our Membership Chairman reports that October will be the beginning of the 2009 renewal period for club and NCGA membership. Further information will be forthcoming.
