As was reported at our February General Meeting, the Men’s Golf Club was responsible for delivering the new Association Phone Directories this year. 52 members, with help from some spouses walked the streets and rang doorbells of the 3110 Sun City homes. Some even in the rain. Over 2400 directories were left with residents. Cards were left on the door of those who were not at home, notifying them that they could pick up their directory in the Administration office. There were no major glitches but a list of suggestions has been given to Dodie Roebeck, Activities Director. Dodie reported, that if they had mailed all the directories, it would have cost the Association about $2000 based on their bulk mail rate. Thanks to all the Volunteers and to Phil Hart for spearheading this effort.

Lakes/Pines rotation day is the morning of Tuesday, February 24th. The posting computer will be defaulted to the Lakes/Pines blue tees for ease in posting your scores. Those playing in the afternoon will play the Lakes/Oaks as usual.

RAMP (Residents Assisted Maintenance Program) begins again in March. Contact Joe Lavette if you want to volunteer. The schedule is posted on the bulletin board and on our website.

A supplement to RAMP is The Adopt-A-Hole-Program. Help keep our course in pristine condition every time you play. Sign up in the Pro Shop.

There will be weekly sweeps unless there is bad weather or a tournament. Only a buck and winnings are paid by credits to the Pro Shop. However any credits can be converted to your Association Card or a gift card which can be used at Timbers Restaurant, Fitness Center and at the Pro Shop. There is a different format each Tuesday. After your round you must turn in your scorecard to the Pro Shop. Results are usually posted by Thursday in the Resident’s Room behind the computer.

The next club tournament is the St. Patrick’s Day event on Tuesday, March 17th. This was moved to the third Tuesday this year to celebrate on the day when everyone is Irish. The Timbers Restaurant is serving the traditional meal, featuring corned beef and cabbage, for both lunch and dinner, every day of the week, for under $10.00! The format for the tournament is a Scramble involving 4-man teams (ABCD Players) playing four balls, but with each shot coming from the same spot. From tee to green, that spot is chosen and all four team members hit from that spot, and so on until it is holed out. Each player must use four drives. A & B Players will hit from Blue Tees. C and D players will hit from the Gold Tees. Maximum Handicap will be 26. No individual stroke score. Signups begin on Tuesday, Feb. 24th. $10.00pp. Phil Hart and Fred Amador are the Co-Tournament Directors.

Our next General Meeting is Wednesday, March 4th. Coffee will be available at 8:00am and the meeting begins at 8:30am. There will be our usual raffle of great prizes. Mark Gouger will give another golf tip. Herb Katz of S.H.O.R.S (Seniors Helping Our Roseville Schools) will speak on how you can make a difference by helping a child.

The two Dicks (Gilberg & Maxey) will soon be taking reservations for the first Travel Event of 2009. This individual stroke play match will be held at Turkey Creek, Monday, April 13th.

Continue to fix Divots, Rake Bunkers, and Repair Ball Marks. May the luck of the Irish be with you.
