Fourth Annual SCR First Tee “High Five” Scholarship
Tournament: This is one of the most
enjoyable and worthwhile tournaments of the year. Four residents and one First
Tee junior play a scramble. (Co-ed) It’s fun just to watch the junior! Play 18
at Timber Creek or 9 at Sierra Pines. July 17th SG tee-off at
8:00am.followed by 1pm lunch and prizes on Timbers patio. Same entry fee as
last year…$45.00 plus green fees. This covers a $25.00 donation to First Tee,
lunch, junior's lunch, and prizes. Sign up started on June 1st, as a
team or individual, in appropriate golf shop. Last year there were 130 players
plus other donations and we gave $4000 in scholarships. These are great kids.
This is a great cause which is even more important in this economy. The other
event, The First Tee Regional Fall
Championship, where many of us volunteer to help, is scheduled for
September 12th.
Bill Gould will be the
guest speaker at our next General
Meeting, Wednesday July 1 to
tell us more about the First Tee events and sign-up volunteers. Plus we will
have Coffee, Donuts and Raffle Prizes. See you there.
