Winter Rules are in effect now. You may place a mark (tee) next to your ball (1 stroke penalty if you don’t) …then lift…clean…and place your ball within 12-inches of the mark. This is “through the green” except in hazards and bunkers. No bumping!! Yes you can go from rough to fairway but not from fringe to green. USGA and LOCAL rules apply.

Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESAs) are defined by yellow and red stakes with green tops or by split rail fences or chains. Do not enter or play from those areas. Note the new location of the stakes and signs in front of the creek on hole number 11.

Sand Baggers Beware! Our Handicap Committee Chairman has announced a new policy for dealing with improper posting of scores. The new rule for players posting 3 strokes or more over what they actually shot is the committee will change his score to what he actually shot and the Chairman will call him. If he does it again within two months, he will be given a “P” score and issued a warning .If he does it again within two months he will not be allowed to play in the next 3 tournaments or the “Sweeps” for the next three months and will be issued another P score.

Rule when putting in match play: If a ball being putted, strikes another ball on the putting surface, there is no penalty. This applies to match play only.

Last Chance Tournament, as the name implies, is the final event for Tour 2009. It will be held on Tuesday, December 8 and will be a “pick your own foursome”. Sign ups start on November 24 and again on December 1. Tournament Directors are: Joe Lavette and Joey Mastrantonio. Entry fee is the usual $10.00. A final thank you to Leon Dean and Bill Whitney, Co-Chairs, who have done an excellent job in planning and organizing each event as well as preparing scorecards and calculating and posting the payouts. Leon, who came out of retirement to help us this year, is retiring from his post at year end and

we wish him well.
