In case you’ve been on vacation, the Men’s Club is right smack in the middle of The Medal Play Championship with the final round set for this Tuesday, the 17th. If you’re not in it, forget it, it’s too late, however you can always follow them around on Tuesday and see how these guys play in front of a huge gallery!!! Knowing Ernie, he’ll have the final results shortly after the last guy putts out, so if you really are that interested, hang out on the patio right after the event and you’ll be among the first to know! The winners will receive some very nice trophies which will be presented at the Holiday Brunch in December, but the results will be posted on the Bulletin Board and the website within hours of this Tuesday’s completion.

If you haven’t heard by now, our new Men’s Club Putting Champion is Terry Snook, runner-up was taken by Martin Wolf, congratulations to Terry and all that participated and a big thanks to Roy Stearns for a well-run tournament, he’s done a few of them before!!

The next big tournament to hit the course will be the Sun City Foundation Tournament which supports a very worthy charity right here in Sun City. Bill Whitney is running it this year, it is set for Friday, June 3rd and I know Bill has openings for it. This is for a very good cause and is always supported big time by the members of the Men’s Club. Contact Bill ASAP and get all the details and get signed up.

No General Meeting in June! It would have been on the 1st, so you won’t have to set your alarm clocks on that day, sleep in!

The Club’s only tournament in June will be the Member/Member on the 14th and 15th, being run by Dick Mann and Tom Shivley, who have experience on this one, so it will be a well-run tournament that you should be part of. Get your partner lined up and be sure you’re signed up, and I am not sure when you can do that, but probably May 31st for certain.

There will be qualifying in June for the NCGA Senior 4-Ball (2-man best ball) so see Bill Aaberg and give that one a try. Speaking of the NCGA, we had 8 of our members play on May 5th in the NCGA Senior Net. Four of them advanced to the Championship set for Poppy Hills on June 6th and 7th with scores of 73! Not too bad! Those four members are: Tom May, Joey Mastrantonio, Martin Wolf and John Jameson, our congratulations to all and good luck at Poppy Hills. The four members that did not make it were; Ed Lick, Bill Player, Bill Whitney and Ray Zwemer, their scores are top-secret.

Mark the calendar for the 21st, that’s the day the club is trying something new, a low gross, low net tournament on the Lakes-Pines rotation followed by a steak BBQ at the new facility at the Pines. Dean Mandler is taking sign-ups and has all the details; see him after Tuesday golf on the patio. I can tell you that 10 bucks will get you a steak, beans, beer, wine or soda, so it sounds like a great deal, do it!

If you haven’t done it yet, there is still time to sign up for the Timber Creek Cup, think big money. John Rowley and Ray Zwemer are available every Tuesday on the patio to take your name and give you all the information you want.

No more Tuesday Skins due to lack of interest, which means a little dinky pool, which means payouts were being made with loose change!

After the ‘no meeting’ announcement concerning the June meeting, the sleeping in comes to a screeching halt in July; next meeting is July 6th usual time, usual (but outstanding) pastries, and a whole ton of door prizes at the end. Get the guys together and be there!
