As this is being written, the Member/Member is winding down so watch for the results on the website or bulletin board, Ernie does not mess around when it comes to getting the results out. It might be a nice gesture to tell him thanks next time you see him. He will be running his Net Tournament on the 28th, a very nice easy way to make some easy money, fourth Tuesday of every month, try it. The next big one will be the Firecracker on July 12th, format is not available at this time, but with the exception of the July Net on the 26th, this will be the only one in July. Everyone should be reminded that Dick Maxey is taking sign-ups now for the next Travel Event. That is going to be at Teal Bend on Monday, June 27. It’s a favorite place to play so if you are interested give Dick a call @215-3770.

We’re about half way through the year and the Timber Creek Cup is doing well but there is still time to sign up, there are three qualifying tournaments remaining; The Firecracker, Autumn Leaves, and the Turkey Shoot plus one more travel event. Remember, only the five best finishes of the eligible tournaments will be used for the final standing. Flights of 6 or less players are not eligible for place points other than 10 for participating If a flight has 7, 8, or 9 players, points will be allocated to the first 3 places If a flight has 10, 11, or 12 players, points will be allocated to the first 4 places. If a flight has 13,14, or 15 players, points will be allocated to the first 5 places. For flights with 16 or more players, points will be allocated to 6 places. For review, 1st place-50 points, 2nd place- 40 points, 3rd place –35 points, 4th place-30 points, 5th place-25 points, 6th place-20 points, and all other finishers are awarded 10 points. Keep in mind that there is going to be a hefty payout to the winner, besides getting his name on The Cup. That is because Ray and John got five outside firms to kick in some very nice donations. They are: Coldwell Banker, Gilchrist Golf Carts, Peck Heating and Air, Whisper Hearing Center, and Westlake, Glover and Grahl Financial Advisors. When you have the opportunity to use one of them, pass on a big thank you from the Men’s Club.

Draw a big red circle around Friday, July 15th on your calendar, that’s when the 6TH ANNUAL 2011 SENIOR/JUNIOR HIGH 5 SCHOLARSHIP GOLF TOURNAMENT will be held at Timber Creek and Sierra Pines. Four Sun City residents play with a First Tee Junior in a High Five Scramble. You can sign up for either 9 holes at Sierra Pines or 18 at Timber Creek. Cost is regular green fees plus $47.00, which covers a $25.00 scholarship donation, lunch, lunch for the junior and tournament prizes. See Phil Hart for all the details and be sure and take part in this very worthwhile and fun event! Just another reminder, The Ninth Annual First Tee Junior Golf Championship Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, September 10th, more details on that one will follow.

Ernie has the enlistment table all set up and is looking for few good men, 60 total, to go up to Lincoln Hills on August 22nd and bring the Sun City Cup back home where it belongs, get your guys together and give him a hand, the Cup would look very nice in the Trophy Case!

Our next General Meeting will be on July 6th, in the ballroom, doors open a little before 8, coffee, pastries, and the normal ‘chit-chat’ and Eddie will start it right smack at 8:30. Ed Lick will close it out by handing out leventy seven door prizes and you’ll be out of there by 10 AM. There will also be two (as of now) Hole in One flags and checks presented, the first to Paige Harper who got his back on ay 10th, hole #14 with a 7 iron and also to Jack Anderson, who nailed #6 on June 11th using a gap wedge.

Get the foursome together and show up!!
