Equitable Stroke Control

Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) is implemented to avoid unwarranted inflation of the handicap index from an otherwise relatively normal round of golf. Equitable Stroke Control is applied to the handicap after first converting your index to your course handicap.

On your score card, record the actual number of strokes for each hole. Circle any hole score that is above the ESC limit. Then at the end of the round, apply the ESC before you post. Always post your adjusted score.
