Sun City Men's Golf Club

Publishing Policies and Procedures

This web site is sponsored by the  Sun City Men's Golf Club. There are certain policies that have been established, however, to make certain that we represent the members and the organizations openly and fairly, with sensitivity to privacy.
Publishing Policies
  • This is an unsecure web site. It is open and available to anyone having access to the internet. It is our intention to avoid publishing anything on the web that might be offensive, inaccurate, or uncomfortable for anyone whether they are or are not residents of Sun City. If you find this to be contrary to what is actually published, please bring it to our attention.
  • While we do not advertise the web site outside of Sun City, residents should be aware that the site is still available to non-residents as well. In some cases, this is exactly what is expected. It provides the Fees, Attire, Rules, Tee Reservation procedures, golf course yardage and slope information as well as others interested in golf at Sun City Roseville. It also provides the phone number of the Pro Shop.
  • No other phone numbers will be placed on the web. Residents have Sun City directories for that purpose.
  • At the present time there are no plans to sell advertising space on our web. While we recognize this to be an opportunity to offset costs, we believe that the web site should remain free from all advertising, including a local "classified" section for the residents and members.
  • Human-interest golfing articles will be considered providing they are short, in electronic format, and of interest to Sun City Golfers in general. Anyone involved in Sun City golf is welcome to send information to be considered for publishing on the web.
  • This is not the place to post-controversial information. This type of information is to be directed to the appropriate board or committee members responsible for dealing with such information.
  • Results of tournaments will be posted in general terms (i.e., there were 5 winners in flight A with an average gross score of 68, etc.), but will not necessarily list all of the names of the winners. When we have key tournaments of the club championship, we may announce the winners of those flights. We will continue to review this policy from time to time.
  • We have concluded that posting the names of the Hole in One winners is good public policy. Since there are no actual hole in one records for the men, this will become the official record. The women have provided a very comprehensive list.
  • Feedback is critical to a web site that serves such a large constituency such as Sun City. Any suggestions to improve the site will be greatly appreciated. Remember, this is a low budget, no development cost effort put together by a single individual with input from golfing residents. The intention is to make it a highly visible and useful document for the purpose of dispensing Sun City Roseville golfing information.
Publishing Procedures
  • All submitted materials must fit into the policy and design considerations of the web. That is, we reserve the right to alter the design of the information if it does not meet the existing style and formatting used on www.scrgolf.com.
  • The preference for all newsletters, articles, and notices is with Microsoft Word. However, it may be possible that other authoring tools can be used as long as the file formats are correctly identified. This includes AmiPro and WordPerfect. Text materials are always acceptable.
  • Attach all files to an email message directed to the web administrator using the comments link below.
