Turkey trapping has been approved by Dept. of Fish and Game.

A concern was raised about the use of carts on the GC last weekend and Jim indicated that he had made the decision to allow as he felt that the impact would not be severe and players would appreciate it as it had been so long since the carts had been allowed.  He felt that the hit had been minimal and worth it.

Jim was thanked for all his work.

Rules:

Tom Devitt, Chair, commented on an incident of a player hitting a ball (covered with sand) out of a bunker and then finding that the ball was not his.  He incurred a penalty of 2 strokes for hitting the wrong ball.  Moral:  you are allowed to identify your ball (even in a hazard) by lifting and removing enough sand and then replacing the ball in its original position.  Tom also commented on the new Sprinkler Control Boxes noting that relief for swing and stance is allowed, But Not Line-of-flight. There was also discussion on the definition of a hazard.  Short answer, the red or yellow stakes are in the hazard and a ball touching the imaginary line between two stakes or a line between two stakes or a line around and defining the hazard is deemed to be in the hazard. However, local rules as noted on our score cards clearly state that ÒSplit rail fences or chain link fences define the margin of the hazard and the red stakes, attached or not, are indicators of the hazard, and the base of the fence posts define the hazardÓ.  Moral:  read the score card.
